DECEASED BRETHREN

Dr. John Milton Shaw (1859-1926) was the first Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Saskatchewan. He was elected Grand Secretary at a Convention held in Regina, Saskatchewan in August 1906 to discuss the formation of a new Grand Lodge of Saskatchewan. He served in that capacity until 1912, when he gave up the office due to illness.

The Grand Lodge of Saskatchewan provided us with the following:

“In 1902 RW Bro. Dr. John Milton Shaw became a member of Wascana Lodge No. 2. He held honorary Life memberships in Wascana Lodge No. 2, Golden Rule Lodge No. 32, North West Mounted Police Lodge No. 11, Doric Lodge No. 71 and King Hiram Lodge No. 104. He remained Grand Secretary until 1912 when a serious illness necessitated his resignation. He died in 1926.”

In Victoria he affiliated with Britannia Lodge No. 73,
