DECEASED BRETHREN

Henderson Lodge No. 84

Edwin Tomlin (1884-1944) was a member of Henderson Lodge No. 84 in the Victoria suburb of Oak Bay.

He began his working career as an accountant with the Vancouver Portland Cement Company, of which Robert Butchart (who was also a Freemason) was Managing Director. He later succeeded Robert Butchart as President of the B.C. Cement Company.

His grave stone displays a Square & Compasses. We are currently researching more of his biographical information.

Edwin Tomlin’s house, designed by architect C. Elwood Watkins in 1922, is still standing at 1930 Woodley Road in Saanich.
