DECEASED BRETHREN

Thomas Nicholson (1842-1914) was a member of Victoria-Columbia Lodge No. 1 in Victoria.

The 1914 City Directory shows his residence as 1403 Arm Street in Vic West and that he was in partnership with Ralph H. Nicholson in the firm of R.H. Nicholson & Co., electricians, located at 622 Johnson Street. 1403 Arm Street and 622 Johnson Street are still standing.

Here is his funeral notice in the local newspaper:

“Great sorrow was felt by many people in Victoria, young and old, at the death of Mr. Thomas Nicholson, which took place at his home on Arm Street on February 27. Mr. Nicholson taught for many years in Victoria West and many people who are now men and women received from him a sound education. As a friend and neighbour he was esteemed by hundreds of old residents of Victoria for his kindness, uprightness and hospitality.”
